Last night I attended a meeting hosted by the SVCN on a Deeper Dive into Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). The audience members included local experts in many health and wellness fields – a naturopath, a mental health care worker, an executive director of a homeless shelter, an executive director of Trail youth (homeless youths living on trails in the woods), a few parents, educators and board directors. We discussed the challenges facing our youth; we discussed the solutions available; we identified the gaps and we know that this is an ongoing discussion.
